With an impressive career of literary translation spanning decades, the many achievements of Linda Gaboriau have been recognized by the National Order of Québec. The translator of some 125 plays and novels, Gaboriau’s work has earned her much acclaim. Her translation of Impromptu on Nuns’ Island written in French by Michel Tremblay won her the Governor General’s Literary Award for Translation in 2002 with Talonbooks, and in 2014 she won the Lambda Literary Award for LGBT Drama with her translation of Tom at the Farm by Michel Marc Bouchard.
Linda has made significant accomplishments in Canadian theatre as a dramaturge and was the founding director of the Banff International Literary Translation Centre. For her outstanding contributions to Canadian literature, particularly through her translations of Québec fiction, Linda Gaboriau has been made an officer of the Order of Québec.
