Seasoned actors will appear with members of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation in preparation for an upcoming production of Tomson Highway’s The Rez Sisters.
Tomson Highway often points out that the piece is rarely performed in community theatre due to concerns by non-native actors that tackling a story by the Cree-Canadian playwright might appear insensitive or insulting to the culture.
The Rez Sisters will be performed at the Orillia Opera House Studio Theatre from April 11 to 14 and from April 18 to 21, 2013.
