Lunch Poems with Daphne Marlatt and Jordan Scott Delight

Daphne Marlatt and Jordan Scott read their work during the lunch hour at Simon Fraser University’s downtown campus in Vancouver. Lunch Poems hosts well-known and up-and-coming poets on the third Wednesday of every month except July and August. Admission to Lunch Poems is free, and no registration required. (For more information, visit www.sfu.ca/publicsquare/lunchpoems.)

Marlatt’s latest book of poetry published with Talon is Liquidities: Vancouver Poems Then and Now, and she chose a fitting set list for the location, which looked out on the harbour; reading poems that invoked the motif of water and Vancouver’s harbour history, the audience of about 25 people was mesmerized by her dulcet tones and learned about the Burrard Inlet’s first ferryboat, known as the “Sudden Jerk”!
