John MacLachlan Gray to Give Keynote Speech at In Tune 2013

Canadian theatre luminary John McLachlin Gray will give the keynote speech at this year’s In Tune conference in Vancouver, British Columbia. MacLachlan Grey is the author of Billy Bishop Goes to War, one of Canada’s most enduring dramas and Talon’s best-selling musical drama for more than thirty years. See this blog for insight into why MacLachlan Gray was chosen to give the keynote.

Directly following the keynote will be the Canadian Songbook Cabaret! Jay Brazeau hosts an evening of songs from the Canadian songbook. Curated and coordinated by Musical TheatreWorks’ Barbara Tomasic, the night will feature selections, both well-known and hidden gems, from Canadian musicals over the years.

Open to all (by donation), this event will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 (this weekend!) at the Arts Club Revue stage in Vancouver. Don’t miss the In Tune conference, this community-wide consideration and celebration of how we make musicals in Canada.
