Books for National Aboriginal Month

Canada celebrated National Aboriginal Day on Saturday, June 21, and the whole of June is designated as National Aboriginal Month. But a month isn’t enough for us at Talon; we celebrate aboriginal cultures and peoples year-round!

Recent Talon favourites and award winners have included The Place of Scraps by Jordan Abel and They Called Me Number One by Chief Bev Sellars. The First Nation Communities Read list for 2013–2014 (see below) includes some wonderful books that shouldn’t be missed. And be sure to check out our First Nations catalogue for Talon’s collection of works about aboriginal subjects and by aboriginal authors.

Happy National Aboriginal Month, and happy reading!
