A Rare Restaging! Michel Tremblay’s “Manon, Sandra, and the Virgin Mary”

Opening tomorrow, January 11! The Pleiades Theatre presents Manon, Sandra, and the Virgin Mary by Michel Tremblay. Translated and directed by John Van Burek, this extraordinary work will be presented at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto, Ontario until February 2, 2014. (See our event listing for more information.)

Manon, Sandra, and the Virgin Mary contains two parallel monologues that together present a poetic, provocative exploration of the sacred and the profane as found in the gritty realities of Tremblay’s east-end Montréal. Written in 1977 and published in 1981 as Damnée Manon, Sacrée Sandra, this masterpiece of elegant simplicity and daring, explosive emotions is rarely seen in production – so carpe diem!
