Phinder Dulai Reads in Honour of the Komagata Maru Passengers

Poet Phinder Dulai read to an audience of about 20 people in the Teck Gallery of Simon Fraser University’s Harbour Centre campus in downtown Vancouver yesterday as part of the Lunch Poems reading series. Dulai read from the manuscript of his book, dream/arteries, which will be published by Talonbooks in Fall 2014. dream/arteries deals with the subject of the Komagata Maru incident, the ripples of which are still felt today – and the centenary of which is tomorrow (the ship arrived in Vancouver on May 23, 2014).

Dulai will read and speak about the Komagata Maru again in Surrey, B.C. on June 14, 2014 (see our event listing) and on July 6 at the Museum of Vancouver (see here).
