Tracing the Lines Launched at SFU

On February 13th, we launched Tracing the Lines with readings by contributors of the anthology. Friends of Roy Miki gathered to celebrate his art and work, at the SFU Harbour Centre. There was a large and supportive gathering of Vancouver writers and readers.

Tracing the Lines:Reflections on Contemporary Poetics and Cultural Politics in Honour of Roy Miki

About the book: Passionate critic, principled citizen, attentive reader and editor, and energizing teacher – Roy Miki is all these and more, a poet whose writing articulates a moving body of work. The two main areas of his passionate research and writing – social critique and poetics – inform each other in these essays, poems, and artwork compiled to mark a milestone in the life of an important public intellectual. Available for purchase at talonbooks.com.

Here are a few of the photos from the evening provided by local poet Jamie Reid.
