Hope Anderson

Hope Anderson was born in Kingston, Jamaica. He moved to Canada in 1966 and attended Dawson College, where he was instrumental in establishing a student-led department of Black Literature and the Institute of Research in Black Experience. He was active in the Vancouver poetry scene in the 1970s. Between 1989 and 2010 Hope was Director of Auxiliary Services at Florida Memorial University. There he founded and co-edited the Florida Memorial Academic Review. He now lives in Victoria, BC, on Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt) and W̱SÁNEĆ Territory.
